In 1909 the AEC was founded as the maintenance company of the London bus company, London General Omnibus Company. Until about 1947 it was known as General Maintenance. The London bus company had so much experience with buses for forty years that they had been building them themselves since the First World War. These busses had the General brand name. This model is a Type S, built from 1920 to 1927.

This (Y23-1) 1922 AEC S Type Omnibus was released in 1983 and remained in production until 1989.

Haig was the only non red bus in the "Made in England" models.
Maples buses were only in the Father's Day Gift Set.
The Rice Krispies bus was a Macau issued model.
